Why am I shooting in the 80’s when I barely play?
This is the question I’m asking myself. I haven’t been making time to practice and I’m playing once a month. So how come my score is dropping from 100 this summer to 80’s now?
I’ve shot in the 80’s before so that’s not new, however, I’ve always needed to practice about three times a week or else my score gets back up to the 100 range. My handicap hasn’t changed much since I didn’t play much in 2008 (14 rounds over 12 months plus a few scramble tournaments). What gives?
My score could be lower with practice no doubt, as evidenced by a 40 on the front and 47 on the back in a recent round, too much of a difference.
I started writing this thinking fitness was a big factor, but look at this statistic below:
In December I made a brief visit to Golf Galaxy. I had a 10 minute or so free lesson as part of an EWGA promotional event. He gave me one tip regarding my stance.
average last 4 scores before the tip = 97
average last 4 scores after tip= 90.5
Pretty amazing results, huh? I’ve said it before in another post, the Golf Galaxy program with the bio feedback is pretty incredible. If you haven’t tried it, I highly recommend it.
